Have you ever wondered why we get goosebumps? When we get cold or scared a part of our brain called the hypothalamus kicks in. It then signals our body to produce adrenaline, which causes mucles at the base of our hairs to contract.

I asked what adrenaline is and I got the answer. Adrenaline is a hormone that your body releases when you get frightened or when your heart starts beating faster. It preprares your body for a "flight or fight" responce. A side afect is goose bumps.

I have gotten goose bumps many times before when ive been cold. I dont think that i have ever gotten goose bumps from being frightened. Personally i hope I never have to go through getting goose bumps from beeing scared. Its odd that I dont get goose bumps when im scared i guess its how i am.

I think this artical is very intersesting in how it explains stuff like the adrenaline. I liked learning about goose bumps and I hope you did to.
